I will be releasing version 2.59 of both the AccessAble Help Desk Pro
Edition and the AccessAble Help Desk Client Server Editions early in
2006. These releases will not change the data file format but
will add some new features, in particular vastly improved
importing. The 2.59 versions will allow for importing from a
variety of data sources (Microsoft Excel, dbf, Access, etc and shouldl
also be able to import from just about any ODBC data source you have
installed) and may include integrated charts and graphs. There
may also be some minor interface changes. In addition, I had one
customer alert me that a couple of the buttons on the push button menu
for AAHD Pro Edition 2.57 do not "match" the files to be updated.,
while the dropdown menus are correct. I intend to fix this in
2.59. The registration message for AAHD Pro Edition 2.57 is also
incorrect, indicated after you enter the licensed registration key that
you have a license for a product other than AAHD Pro Edition - the 2.59
release will correct that as well.
The 2.59 versions will be the last ones that are database compatible
back to version 2.0. The subsequent next upgrade (to be named
either 3.0 or 2006) will make some changes to the structure of the
database for both the Pro Edition. I am always reluctant to
incorporate database structure changes which might cause problems for
existing users. However, the improved importing capabilities in
2.59 will make the transition easier for future versions.

Version 2.59 of both AccessAble Help Desk Pro and Client Server
Editions are now available. All in all, I think they turned out
pretty well. I have a short list of "to dos" for the next
release, the first where I will be making structural changes to the
database. If you are currently using, or considering, one of
these two programs, I encourage to create an account on this site, then
login and post a reply. This will make it easier for me to keep
track of requests for the next version.
