11/06/2006 11:43 AM Alert
I read all my email messages, but pay particular attention to those from licensed users of my programs.  Initial reaction to the just released Been There, Done That! 2006 Web Server has been very good.  However, the web server is likely to be upgraded and changed as I receive what I consider to be good ideas or suggestions.  There may be "private" builds available only to registered users who have already bought a license, while I may release other changed versions to the public as a trial download.

While most end users might never discover the login name and password used by Staff to login and update requests, inventory, etc.. there may be some who are just that creative.  I have a private build available which will keep the login name and password in an .ini file on the PC acting as your BTDT Web Server.  Change it as often as you like.  The clever end user would have to be able to access the windows directory on your BTDT Web Server to learn the new login name/password.  TIP For the rest of you:  if you login to the BTDT Web server from an end user PC, perhaps to update the PC/Peripheral/Software tables, don't save the password.

Initial release of the BTDT Web Server used row highlighting to indicate the selected record. Next release may make this a radio button - easier to see, especially for color blind people.

all for now

Dad
