2/26/2006 - QUAD Help Desk Pro Edition 2006
This new version will include
improved importing, integrated visual report builder which supplements the standard
reports and report wizard, a few useful chart type reports, and more.
In this next release the calls database structure is going to be
changed slightly. In this version the time to solve will be calculated
automatically. The refresh button on browse screens has been removed
and network refreshing is now automatic and instantaneous. Like the
Standard Edition of QUAD Help Desk, I am removing the mini http server
with the next release. The site license price will also increase
from $299 to $349 when the new version is available for download.
6/29/2005 - QUAD Help Desk Pro Edition 3.15 is now available
for download. I have replaced older downloads with this newer
version. This will likely be the last .DOT revision of QUAD Help
Desk. The next update would include changes to the database
structure and, therefore, would be a major version number increase
(4.x). Such an upgrade is not planned until late this year - if
then.
The latest available version of QUAD Help Desk Pro Edition is
now 3.15. This may be the last version upgrade for QUAD Help Desk
Pro Edition until late this year. Version upgrades are released
as a result of suggestions or requests received from registered users,
and are also driven by sales demand. I welcome email from
registered users, and potential customers, with suggestions or
recommendations.
4/27/2005 - QUAD Help Desk Pro Edition 3.0
will be officially released by May 1st. At that time the site license
price will be increased to $299. New features include the ability to
read your Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express Inbox from within the
program and create a call record from an email with just one click.
Runtime translation is also included.
- Easy to use, includes user logins, passwords and procedure security that you can define.
- Mini-http server is ideal for use on a Local Area Network to
let users submit support requests via browser. Techs can also use
the browser to view and edit requests (but unlike the windows app, the
browser interface does not use logins)
- Add calls by reading your Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express Inbox from within the program.
- If you need the windows interface to be in a different
language, you can translate most screen, report and menu labels just by
editing a text file with notepad
- Like all my help desk programs, multiple staff members can access the same database without additional per user charges.
Note: If you didn't read the readme file in the quadpro.zip
download, you will need to know that you can login with the user name
of "admin" and password of "admin". After using the program for
awhile, and especially if you decide to purchase a site license you
will want to change the Admin password.

Report Builder in development. This will supplement the standard reports and
report wizards. More flexible, the report builder will allow for such
things as using a currency symbol other then $ in reports, changing format of
date fields, and much more. It will allow you to create your own labels,
visually design more sophisticated reports, yet still utilize the query wizard
to filter data printed, and output to PDF reports as in the standard
reports. Check back for news, or email me at dbandsons@aol.com

Below shows addition of Assigned to field, Due Date field, and at the bottom
the new Document Link field. This will allow you to enter the path or URL to
any registered file type and the file reference becomes part of the Call
record. Later, clicking on that hyperlink will launch the associated file with
the application registered on the PC to open that file type.
